What is 'Wire Lace'?

I design beaded necklaces, but I have always especially loved using my hands to bend and twist wire to make jewellery.

To start with something as masculine and industrial as metal wire and end up with a truly unique and feminine design is a process that I am always thrilled by, so I call these striking pieces Metamorphosis necklaces, which are part of my Wire Lace collection.

Each is a lightweight sculpture of gold fill or sterling silver wire, adorned with Swarovski crystals, semi-precious stones, and other eye-catching materials.

The above photo is a close up of the first Metamorphosis Wire Lace necklace that I ever made. I've worn this versatile necklace everywhere from the New York subway to red carpet events and weddings, and it attracts attention and interest every time I wear it. But it was when men, too, started admiring it that I decided to launch flaurena™!
